WTF!!!!!!

Post by mrevilracing »

SOMEBODY has lost their mind.

http://www.scca.com/newsarticle.aspx?hub=6&news=3880

Corporate mergers and aquisitions are one thing. But racing organizations merging or even partially merging are another. NHRA will be merged into SCCA? I am DEFFINITELY getting a road racing license now. I can't wait to be in a corner with some of these older dragsters. How great would it be to just laugh as those skinny little tires attempt to grab the pavement and turn the car? LOL! Oh, and not to mention.....oops, sorry. Just ran over that little wheel....as it gets smashed into a pile of bent up scrap. Hahahahahaha!

But as I think of this, if those guys are using any type of carbon fiber body panels, what safety measures will be in place if they fly off? Will those drivers be black flagged for having flimsy parts on the car? And for the real question, what is going to be done about the noise? It's mentioned in the article. Will there be special training for the SCCA officials? Are the NHRA guys going to be given special treatment? Cause I can see it now. "You SCCA guys are capped at 103db. However, the NHRA guys can have open exhaust."
Hmm, come to think of it, I can change to the NHRA side and just run open exhaust!!! Oh this is gonna be good. But then again, I can see someone getting Congress involved in the transition process so that you'll have to declare which orgainzation's rules your car must adhear to BEFORE the merger. I'm writing to my Congressman right now.

And I am NOT changing stickers on my car. No way!
RIP Joe, my friend.

It could be worse. FAR worse... Imagine if it was NASCAR...

All cars have the same body regardless of powerplant...
..."competition yellow" between the Pagoda and ballfield at Duryea...
...Danica Patrick shows up to drive a Vee, finishes fifth (out of five), and still gets mobbed...

Yeah, I was impressed by the coordinated effort by SCCA and NHRA to make so many April fools... Kudos to them.

The article on NHRA.com was pretty funny too.

Note: just checked back, and it's nice to see they let everyone off the hook with the little note at the bottom of the article.
