Ever since my new Mini convertible landed at the dock in NY, it's done nothing but snow! He's happy & warm inside the dealer & may stay there til spring. There's something very bizarre when South Jersey gets more snow than the Poconos. The infrastructure down here is simply NOT equipped to handle over 3ft in one week. David would have made a great Mainer - the stoves are filled & ready, half a cord on the back porch, 2 cords in the shed, 20 gallons of gas for the generator & 8 big bags of dry catfood. We just got out of hot tub - think I'll make a pitcher of martinis & dream of Weatherly! Miss you all! Sue & Dave

Well, actually it takes an enormous amount of energy to create a large snow storm. A large storm requires a large amount of condensed or sublimated moisture. The source of this energy in this case comes from the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. When this moisture evaporates it cools the surroundings; subsequently when the moisture condenses or sublimates it heats the surroundings fueling the storm. Indeed, if you look at the weather the last ten years it shows a greater source of additional energy which very well might be the result of Gobal Warming. Scientifically, we have recognized the existence of Global Warming since the 1950s!

Sat morning:

Wed morning. See anything wrong with this picture? :(

Still had another 8" to dig out this morning.

Not sure when I'll be able to free the Scirocco from the ghetto garage (it's my daily driver, not #57), but I crawled in and it seems intact although I'm expecting to find scratches. On the bright side, I think I have a good excuse to get a real garage built, and I should do this soon while Keith still feels sorry for me. :)

Grace,

What you need is a mobile meth lab on wheels(enclosed trailer). Craigslist is loaded with them. A lot cheaper than a new garage(buildwise and taxwise) and can go anywhere you want it. Great for storage, hotel, build a race car, etc. Get one with a massive generator loud enough to wake Morg up in the morning.

Seriously, this snow stuff has to stop. Weather is killing me $$$$. Reynard is almost a roller and I need for some engine stuff to make it go,go. Cosworth parts are not cheap.

But a trailer that my van can pull only has room for 1 car; I need room for 4, plus 12 sets of wheels and tires and almost an entire Scirocco's worth of spare parts.

Also, not sure I want to be responsible for waking up Morg, that could get ugly :-)

Grace,

Ok, I see your point. Maybe you need Pioneer and Morton pole builders to make a huge garage.

As far as Morg, a nice cold Bud will cheer him up. I heard that he is installing a cigarette lighter in the Vee to go faster using some left over McLaren F1 KERS technology. At each event, he is going to hand out rubber gloves to the startline crew, so they do not get shocked. LOL!
