Weatherly - "new" pit area

Weatherly is really turning out the effort for this Fall's event with numerous activities as identified in the Registration paperwork. Kudos for the little town with the big heart. Also of significant note is the "new" return pit road and deeper parking spaces designated for motor-homes an...

If your looking for an enclosed trailer....

Saw this on race-cars.com http://www.race-cars.com/trasales/other/1248823952/1248823952pp.htm and its local , Phoneixville. What typically makes trailers expensive are the "options", and this has alot of them. I would think they are asking a fair price considering its apparent "like n...

Re: Pagoda Armco?

I tested out the Armco with the bumper of my truck and it is defintely the height of my bumper. I have two "streaks" to prove it (don't ask, I was backing down the pits). We checked the height and my 13" race tires would hit about 2/3 up the tire. Not the greatest, but better than sli...

Big "ATTA BOY" for Merlin Miller R Rock and BMR team

Best Pagoda event ever. Well organized, smoothly run, great turnout, love the "covered dish" (who made that Taco salad??). I much prefer the "picnic" vs Leiderkranz. Lots of successful, new ideas implemented, like braking-in some new help on timing Not to worry- when there is a s...

Cumberland Historics AX - June 5/6 Cmberland, MD

The fine folks in Western Maryland that are promoting the Polish Mtn. Hillclimb offered up a competitive 2 day autocross this past weekend. John Felten, Dave Williams and team put on an excellent event along with a charity dinner, auction and display of historic cars including a fan favorite Chevron...

Re: New Jersey Motor Sports Park

So was there open passing in the practice groups? Jeremy: I have run this TT as well as the EMRA TT last July. The greatest challenge in "practice laps" is having drivers accustomed to point-by passing. The new drivers you would most likely see at a Level 2 event are more focused on their...

Re: New Jersey Motor Sports Park

I heard back quickly from Terry Hanushek (Jersey Racing Board). He has forwarded my eligibility inquiry to Chief Steward for the event - Matt Rowe. Terry explained that Matt is at the SCCA National Convention, so we will probabaly be hearing back from Matt sometime next week. I'll keep the Forum ad...

Re: New Jersey Motor Sports Park

Joe, you had better contact them. They wanted to limit the entries to sedan type classes. They didn't want to handle formula cars specifically so they have similar concerns on a sports racer. Just want to give you a heads up so you have time to check it out. Dave Y[/quote] Dave: I will contact them ...

Re: New Jersey Motor Sports Park

Just registered this evening. Note "Club Trials event will be limited to a maximum of 30 entrants". Good opportunity to shake down the car in prep for the season, providing the weather co-operates. I'm betting on sunshine and temps over 50.

Need Hoosiers for the upcoming season?

Just a heads for those in need of new rubber for the 2009 season. I needed new Hoosier slicks and Joe Specht at CJ Tires hooked me up. Joe had the tires sent directly to my local CJ store where they mounted them, used stick on weights (inside only), then taped over the weights to insure security. Ex...

Re: The NEW and IMPROVED DURYEA HILLCLIMB

For the non-historic/vintage sports racers/formula cars, the next 18-20" might be the front roll hoop. In my case, the front of the monocoque would contact after front wheels. As observed by others, you gotta be way "off" to hit the end of the new Armco at OS.

January Fastrack - effort to promote TT

As evidenced by following excerpt from Fastrack, our own Matt Rowe continues the effort to expand the TT program. It would appear that the primary focus is to incorporate more TT events into Club Racing weekends and have more Regions participate with a TT event. Additionally, a program is underway t...

Re: PHA MARKETING

Dave W.: I like the idea of adding a video to the PHA website and using the site as a tool to introduce hill climbing to our brethren drivers. The thought occurred to me that nearly each marque has a webforum were owners discuss topics of interest. Once a video or two has been added to the PHA site,...

Re: New Jersey Motor Sports Park

Dave: I'm not certain what they use for timing. On Lightening, the timing "trap" was located just before the bridge, so you had about 1/2 mile to "warm-up" then you, cooled down after your 3rd pass through the trap, then exited the course. You are correct that the date will be a ...

Re: New Jersey Motor Sports Park

I would suggest following a format used by EMRA which does TT events at Summit Point, Lime Rock, Pocono and NJMP. 1)They do not require transponders for timing 2) They have 4 run groups, approximately 20-25 cars per group (student/HDPE, white, red, and blue) 3) Each group gets 4 - 20 minute practice...
