Mt Washington hillclimb 2017
Looks like I'm in the show. Going to be a LONG haul but worth it. I know some of the PHA guys have run there before. Any tips anyone care to give? After many hours of watching videos I'm getting closer to having the course memorized. Taller ride height and softer suspension is already underway. Came...

Re: ITE/Classing of street legal "swapped" cars
FYI Street Unlimited has 7 entry's (over 10% of total entries) in next weeks Dragon hillclimb.

Edit - make that 10 entries. Seems like a class thats very relevant in todays world.

Re: ITE/Classing of street legal "swapped" cars
Start by saying I had no problem being bounced to Specials so no hard feelings at all and didnt take away from the awesome weekend. My thought was NASA TTU (time trial unlimited) which is hp/wt class would eek me into ITE. I do run Street Unlimited in the South which is quite relevant to what people...

Re: Duryea
Here's my best run of the weekend. Intense I think is about the best way to describe the hill. Car has more in it but have to take chances and push the limit to get there. As you can see still wussing through 6 and 11 and turning in too early for the switchbacks but overall thrilled with the time I ...

Re: 2015 Duryea
Thanks for the tips Jeremy. Looking for hotels and most seem to be already full. I noticed in prior years there were blocks of rooms at a hotel - is there one for this event?

Re: 2015 Duryea
From between turn 11 and 12 (the right/left , downhill looking kink after Pagoda) are you really WOT all the way to the finish? Sounds that way from videos. Also, do the higher power cars just lift into 11 as it dips down or do you actually brake?

Re: 2015 Duryea
Theres a tree on the inside of turn 5 thats close to the curb in real life thats not in rF. ( Scared the poop out of me first time by. ) Water drains at the exits of turn 2+3-- One on the inside of 7-- And the dip coming into "oh shit" didn't make it to the game. :( Other than tha...

Re: Car classification question
Thanks for the kind words and advice George. Sounds too good to pass up even with the 14 or so hour drive. That is the basic plan just trying to figure out what I need and then add to winter plans as required. I found discussion where SPO isnt used anymore in PHA and debate on the definition of ITE ...

Re: Car classification question
Sooo I bought a tube bender in prep for conversion to a cage over the winter. Plan to build to Pikes Peak Open class rules. What class would I then end up in and therefore what would be the other safety requirements of that class? Things like scattershield, fuel cell, fire system, etc? I will eventu...

Although Im in Illinois, have been running the Chasing the Dragon hillclimb in North Carolina for the last couple years. Im considering the long haul up for the Duryea eve...
