GOT RAINS ?

Post by dspgti »

Is anyone following the weather for Summit? Looks like a pretty good chance that the remnents of Tropical Storm Ernesto should be over Summit Point on Friday and Saturday and maybe into Sunday. I'd be prepared with rain tires, RAINX, good wipers and any kind of shelter you can gather up. I pitty you guys in open cars  Bring lots of dry underware
See you at the track!

I don't know Dave, the forecast is changing every couple hours. I checked last night and it looked reasonably clear for the weekend. This morning it was 60% chance of rain for each day. Now it's back to scatter storms on Sat and mostly cloudy the rest of the weekend. Maybe it's because I'm looking at the forecast for the main track. :D

Still, the intermediate tires are packed in the new trailer (of which there is still a TON of room  ) I just have to decide if I'm going to throw the soft springs in as well so that I have a chance at staying on track if the rain hits hard.

I'm obviously a pessimist. The advantage of being a pessimist is that we are never disappointed. We think the worst and if it comes out better, great, we didn't expect that. I'm also bringing umbrellas and rain suits and trying to find my rubber boots. With all this preparation, it won't rain. You can thank me later.

Are you guys running Summit or Jefferson (not that it makes any difference with the weather)? I'm going to hide in the MH.

Just the Regional on the big track for me. Couldn't justify running both events. I need to get one more race credit plus do my two required worker positions to get signed off on my permanent license. Don't think the Scirocco has the stamina for double duty. I'll still be camping with you guys on the Jefferson side cause that's where the fun people hang out.

I'm trying to put a positive spin on the weather. How about a wet tee-shirt contest? But since there are only a few of us who look good in wet tee-shirts, how about we girls revive the Summit Point Wet Jockey Shorts Contest? I believe Don DeHart is still the defending champion. Come on Jen - in your Mom's honor?!!

Sue,

I think Morg may be able to take the title away from Don.

STARTING to get scary?

I think we past that a few posts ago!

And to think I couldn't get that mental image of Morg out of my mind from the article on Giants with Morg as the General cleaning his musket.....

The worst part is that some of you have actually given this some thought - and you think Morg would win!

Oh, this should be a good weekend!

Oh I don't know about that! The guys in the jockey contest the last time thought it would help them if they pulled Dad's jockey's off, they did to the ankles. He won!! And who knows how many pics of that are floating around, there were enough flash bulbs going off. So now all can imagine my Dad with nothing but undies and his jumpsuit(his worker whites) to his ankles up on stage in front of all the beer party!! So Morg will have to go further than the jockeys to take the title will he do it? The preffered outfit for novices losing their stripes at that event is helmet, gloves, shoes and nothing more and streaking through the pits area during the beer party. Do we have any novices losing their stripes this weekend????

If we go streaking, I'll have to run backwards or I'll trip...

Anybody got a roll of that black lanscaping plastic?

We could have one long "slip-n-slide" and end in some hay bales and a mud pit!
What could go wrong? 8)
