HI,

I had a 119.990 last year  The list was from past class winners? That's still a good size list.

Thanks Nelson!

Thanks Nelson,

I was just curious about the past 2min. club members. I don't want anyone to think the wrong way about me be excited and talking about it this past weekend. In fact the funny part about it is, I would have never put that much thought into it if it was not for Vince Gladfelter. Last year when we co-drove the Audi all we talked about was when Bruno drove the Audi Group B car at the hill. We thought if we could even get close to his time we would be happy. Vince made the first run on Sat. and beat his time by a pretty good margin. By the last run on Sunday when I ran 120:007 I really didn't realize how significant sub 2 mins. was. Believe me, when I tell you, Vince and I have discussed in it 100 times since last year and through his enthusiasm I made it a personal goal. My point is I just don't want anybody to take my excitement the wrong way.

Thanks again Nelson

I have a survey question:
If you had the opportunity would you ride in the passenger seat as Kerry Hitt drives his GT1 Corvette up the hill ?
Those are some insane times.

Yeah,
Thanks for taking the time to compile that list Nelson. Bill I would say that your not the only one who has thought of that and you have a right to be proud of that accomplishment. Like I said, I've got it on my radar as well.

As a corner worker for many years watching him go up the hill and now as a driver knowing what those times must feel like I vote that a ride with Kerry would be amazing!! But with my eyes closed for the entire run I doubt I would see much :D .

He was just in our shop today. I have not spoke with him in a year or so but Tim (my partner) talks to him all the time. The funny thing is he banks at the branch my wife manages so she sees him all the time. I think his shop is still in Harrisburg but I'm not sure what his been up to.

This past Duryea event had to be my favorite hillclimb of all time. Besides having put on a party that everyone enjoyed and I finally got my car going the right way for a change, I was really proud to have my son, Aaron, driving in his first event in 4 years.
He and I often talked about what it takes to be sub 2 min. We were also fastenated by Bruno's appearence several years ago. My only disappointment of the weekend was that after Aaron took his second run and posted a 120.8, it looked certain that sub 120 was going to be easy. On the next run he was a little too aggresive and made several mistakes. Not to worry, we had the rest of the weekend. Unfortunitly, his Uncle the car owner and co-driver stuffed it in turn 7 on the next run and ended his shot at the exclusive list. Not bad for a front drive econo box. Maybe next year.

Kerry's shop is on the west shore...still doing the Corvette thing. He and I have been playing phone tag to set up an interview with him.

Kerry Hitt...PHA hall of fame!? I'd say yes! :D
