Great time at Weatherly
I had a great time at Weatherly this past weekend, I just wish I could have stayed for Sunday. Weatherly is a bit intimidating for a rookie - the "wall" and the jump- wow!
Hope all went well Sunday and as soon as Google approves my video, I'll post a link for you to see how bad I drove
See ya at Giants!!!

HI all,
Thanks for coming Brian and I'm glad you had a great time.
There were a few cars that had mishaps, Rich Rock (heavy damage, driver ok, Gordon Wise (minor damage, driver ok), Darryl Danko (heavy damage, driver ok). Darryl was checked out by Hazleton Hospital then after finding shadowed images on his xray was transported to Danville for extensive tests and they found that it was a bruise in his chest (from what I heard). He came home right away and is resting. He will be fine very soon.

Brain, to bad you could not stay for Sunday ... by lunch the course was warmer and times started getting quicker as it was not so slippery.
Tim, thanks for the update on Darryl. I was wondering how he made out.
Thanks to all the course workers and officials for putting on such a great event. I'll have my videos online tonight (late).

It was an unusually dent-filled weekend. Saturday we were dealing with cold asphalt + cold race tires = slippery surface.
I slid on every trip up the hill, even on a very slow touring run.
As things warmed up Sunday and we could finally start turning in good 'laps' and people just started really going for it.
I could be wrong, but I think I counted 9 cars taking on at least some damage.
This is my only 3rd year in this environment, but that seems unusually high from what I have seen so far.

ouch!
Sorry to hear about all the incidents and damage, but glad everyone walked (limped) away. I hope everyone can get their cars back together for the rest of the season.
It was pretty slippery Sat, but not knowing any better I just thought that was the way a public road felt from all the grease and oil from passenger cars. I could not get the car to launch or pull out of the "wall" turn. In the video I look back and shake my head at all the tire smoke
Here is the first video hosted. It was my last run on Sat. The nxt one I post has a bit more air over the Jump.

Saturday was definitely not what the roads normally feel like.

This is my 2nd run with less traction at the start, more tire smoke at the wall, a wierd stumble out of turn 4, and little more air at the jump.

You forgot to mention the heavy damage that Pete Stillwell did to his 914. I'm glad I wasn't there having crashed on that hill twice.
Rich Rock can't reply on the forum since his computer is down (I think it crashed). So I am his eyes and ears online. He is planning on having the body off and transfering all the chassis parts over to a spare frame that he has. Remount the body, drop in the drive line and he is ready for Pagoda. Pretty ambitious but he could do it with a little help. Anyone in the Reading area that would like to pitch in would be appreciated.

I'd be willing to help, but I'm not sure how much of a help I would be.
Also, I would only be able to come after work (figure after 5:00 sometime).

Thanks for the offer Jeff. Rich plans on having the body ready to lift off Wednesday night. We could use an extra pair of hands just to lift it. The garage is at 134 Carpenter St (1-1/2 blocks directly behind The Peanut Bar). Should be ready around 6:00PM. Call Rich or me on our cell phone to confirm. Rich Rock 610-804-9047. Hey Dave,
That's easy enough to find. I'll plan on being there around 6:00 pm.
