No easy answer. The 2 closest motels, Penn Terrace & Mt. Laurel are both DUMPS. You'll have to go into Hazleton or further for a decent chain motel. You could try a search on White Haven for a B&B but that's a haul late at night. Depends on how much you party. Sue

You can find some of the smaller chain-type motels in Frackville at the intersection of I81 & Rt 61. That's about 30-35 minutes from the course.

I live about 10-15 minutes south of that location and I commute each day to the race.

We stayed at the Genetti Best Western in Hazelton last year (and once a few years earlier on a motorcycle trip when it started pouring just as we were passing through Hazelton).

It's not bad and is pretty inexpensive. It took about 20 minutes to get from there to the hill...

There is also The Lantern Lodge at the bottom of Rt 93. Roughly 10 minutes from the hill.

Joe - If you can get from the Lantern to the Weatherly pits in 10 minutes, I want to borrow your tow car for a timed run up the hill. BTW, the food at their restaurant is awesome. But 10 minutes, no way. Sue

OK, sorry Sue, maybe 15-20 minutes. But probably no more than that.
I may have been alittle off in my estimates.
On another note, wait till you see the pits at Weatherly. More room has been added.

Larry Snover and his wife stayed at a B&B just outside Weatherly last year. I can't remember the name of the place but it was somewhere between Weatherly and White Haven. Closer to Weatherly than White Haven.

Under $100/night and they thought it was great. I wish I could be more specific, but I just can't remember.

I drove up through there a few weeks ago and I can't believe how many trees they removed. The pits are a lot bigger now!

The name of the B&B in Weatherly is Deer Meadow Inn.
