I would like to put together a comprehensive list of hillclimbs in the U.S.
Mind helping? If you guys post them up, I will edit this list. Thanks!

The list is here:

You're welcome and thanks Tim.

I intentionally listed Weatherly only once.
The New England Hillclimb Assn runs almost all of their hills twice.

HI,

I thought to get an accurate impact on hill climbing it would be better to see them as separate events. Just a thought :D

Good point. ;)

I added both Weatherly's and doubled the dates for the NEw England ones that run twice.

Impressive list...

Is Rotary Teton only open to Mazdas? (sorry)

Do you know what Teton really refers to?

Speaking of tetons, have you seen the Grand Tetons? That's quite a pair!

I wish! But I do know a few racers are campaigning us to print T-Shirts stating:

"I drove it ALL the way UP Sam's Gap"

You would need a vintage car to do that as a bunch of them are restricted to such.

Is Rock Creek not running anymore? (is that the right name?!).

I would love to run some of the New England hills that gor for several miles.

Rock Creek is awaiting approval from the US Forrestry Service, we have to obtain a permit this year. Rather than advertise and cancel we decided to wait until we get approval.

Sam's Gap is in the same county, but doesn't require USFS approval and the road is much curvier!

Your car would never survive most of the surfaces. If you think Weatherly is bad right now, it mild compared to a lot of the surfaces up there (and some of them are supposed to be that way).

IIRC, Okemo and Philo are a little, um, rough and rustic...

Wow. Thanks for the heads up Matt.
I thought they were just asphalt.

Are you saying they are asphalt and it has gone to hell or are you saying they run on various road surfaces (gravel, stone, dirt, etc...)

Weatherly has not been too bad for me.
I just avoid the left side of the road between 2 and 3.

Contact this guy.

grant.hughes@state.co.us

There are quite a few hillclimbs in Colorado other than Pikes Peak. Most (if not all) are non tarmac, I believe.

Honestly, I've only seen pictures of some of the hills, and descriptions of others. I believe there are a few people on the board here that can actually speak from experience.

I love Ascutney but haven't been there in several years due to the road surface. The last time was so rough we each took a touring run & put the MGA back on the trailer. Couldn't see the gauges, the car was bouncing so badly. If they re-pave, I'll go back in a heartbeat. Great course & wonderful bunch of crazy drivers. You might be OK in a softly sprung streetcar but the MG was undriveable. Sue

Hyde is far from soft-sprung  Thanks for the heads up Sue.
Have you run any of the other NE climbs?

Don, thanks for the tip.
Grant already got back to me!

I'll be adding these:

" Good list. Here is a list of the other Colorado Hill Climbs.

Temple Canyon Hill Climb Canon City, CO

Continental Divide Hill Climb Monarch, CO

Gold Camp Hill Climb Victor, CO

Buffalo Peaks Hill Climb Buena Vista, CO

Lands End Hill Climb Grand Junction, CO

The organizing body is the Colorado Hill Climb Association. http://www.chcaracing.com

The events are all dirt and range from 2.5 to 6 miles in length.

I have videos from all the events at http://www.nocoastmotorsports.net

Let me know if you need any more info"
