Getting the car ready?

Post by Draven »

I'm new to all of this. I have been doing many track days and autox's for the past couple years. I want to step it up now and am getting a car currently ready. I have been reading the rules from the SCCA and am still finding great confusion within some. I know the requirments are a 4point rollbar. I can't seem to find wiether a fire exh. is fine for a time trial car or do you need a entire fire system hooked up. Also can you get away a 4point harness or is a 5point required? I'm forgetting a lot of other little questions I have. Thanks if you can help me out. Hopefully I'll get the car finished this winter and be racing with you all in the spring.

AFAIK, you need a 5-point harness and an all-metal fire extinguisher.
Good luck with your car.
