I whined about the potential rain at Weatherly and ...
... it never really materialized.
So let me whine about the potential rain for Giants so that it also does not come.
Anyone want to join me?
Group whine anyone?

I have no rain tires or a need for them ... I will not be taking runs in the rain. It's just not worth the risk IMO.
I was planning on trailering up tonight and camping, but I am not sure with the weather up there. I may just drive my street car up early Saturday to make the novice meeting and come back in the race car on Sunday.
Does it seem like it will be raining all day Saturday?

If there are three things I've learned about hillclimbs and weather it's this.
1) Never trust the weather reports.
2) Running in the rain teaches you more about car control and smoothness than any other type of seat time.
3) You only get a few runs at a hill, giving up ANY seat time is giving up a chance to learn.
IMHO, it's better to bring the car up and be pleasantly surpised when the track is dry than sit at home and miss out on chance to run.
Either way I'll see everyone who takes a chance on the weather tomorrow morning.

... I'm not sure I want to learn the kind of car control involved in using dry race tires in the rain
It seems liek the weather is not harsh here in Reading at the moment.
My other issue with tonight is I am still fairly new to trailering ... and I am not excited about trailering in the rain either.
I'm a wuss and I am okay with that.

Now that you mention it... I've noticed for autocross that it only rains when I don't bring the rain tires, so I packed them just in case the same holds true for hill climbs. Hopefully just bringing them will be enough, since I didn't put them on the carFV195 wrote:If we all bring our rain tires, it won't rain. I'm going to put mine on the car now that way I'll have to change them tomorrow!

Just remember, street tires in the rain work reasonably well.
The only reason to run rain tires is if you're really competing IN THE RAIN. Granted, standing water would be a reason too, but I don't see much standing water at our hills... At least, on course that is
Anyway, what Matt said is spot on. Run carefully in the rain, and when it does dry out you'll go faster.
