I've been planning to make Pagoda my first hillclimb, and have even managed to talk my husband into it. The car is ready; has been ready for some time (silver '86 VW Scirocco for anyone that remembers it from the BMR autocross events last winter).
But I've managed to procrastinate on the novice permit, and just realized there is only 2 weeks to go (hey, at least I took care of the car ).
A couple of questions:
Is the novice permit application for hillclimbs the same as the road racing one? The link to the application on pahillclimb.org is broken. And since the text on pahillclimb says the fee is $25, but the road-racing permit application is $110, I was wondering if there was a different permit for hillclimb...
Do I need to get a physical? Or is that just for the road racing novice permit?
Is there enough time left to send in the form and get it turned around by national? Or am I better off applying at the event?
Thanks!
Grace

Re: novice permit
Grace,
Just show up at registration. The novice permit can be taken care of there. It IS NOT the same as the road race novice permit and it is still $25 (I think). Just bring an extra check which will be made out to SCCA. If you don't have an SCCA membership, you can get that also (with another check).
You don't need a physical right away, you can fill out the required portion at the event.
I would not send it in now as it probably will not be back in time.

HI,
It is listed as Time Trials Application here is the link.
http://www.scca.com/_Filelibrary/File/t ... icense.pdf
It is $35 this year.
If your not an SCCA member the App is here:
http://www.scca.com/_Filelibrary/File/f ... berapp.pdf
Depending on the region you are in the SCCA membership is $70 give or take.
But, like Nelson said you can do all of this at the event registration Friday evening at Sears Auto lot.
Welcome aboard!
