Help Selecting Brake Pads

The car that I bought has what I beleive are Hawk Blue pads on it currently. From the limited time I have in the car I think I want to change them out for somthing a little less "race" like. It seems that these things need to get pretty hot before they start to work affectively.

The car is an ITB VW Golf with 9.4" vented front rotors. My plan is to do the 2 Reading hillclimbs this year and I'm looking for some advice from folks that race similarly sized cars. How hard are these courses on brakes? What pads (or types of pads) are you using?

Thanks,
Bob

HI,

I use brakes from http://www.thebrakeman.com talk to Warren Gillian (owner) tell him I told you to call. Tell him what you want out of the pad and he will tell you your choices.

I highly recommend the Porterfield R4S pads if they make them for your car.
