PA Hillclimb

What is any ones experience or thoughts concerning driving short distances on Hooiser tires on the street. Such as the parade at Weatherly or from my house to Pagoda/Duryea which is about 4 miles. This is on a perfectly legal street car. I know the tires are not legal to be driving on the street. I'm looking at other factors.

I'm guessing you're talking about something other than slicks? Like maybe A-7's or R-7"s? No problem at the parade for either, but I wouldn't try making it from your house to Pagoda on slicks.. Anything else I think is doable.

Well it depends on which Hoosiers you're talking about really. A7 & R7's are technically street legal tires right? They are DOT radials which allows them to be used in many classes where "slicks" aren't allowed. Regardless, I wouldn't feel too bad about driving 4 miles on them IF the roads are dry. I've driven a couple places on R7's in the past with no issues, including any kind of additional or excessive wear.

A7/R7 is street legal. You drive many competition miles on the hills with them, they will be fine for an easy 4 mile drive to the hill. I used to drive mine to events 2 hours away when I was younger and dumber.

I've got SM7s and don't know if they're different from A7s or R7s?
