New tires

Post by mrevilracing »

Here comes the '13 season!!! Should be exciting. Looks like I'll be trying a set of BFG R1 S tires. These are supposedly close to as good as the A6....we'll find out. I ordered a set of 315/17s from CJs and just need to bring up the new wheels and see where we go from there. If you need tires, remember that CJs is there to supply them! NO, I'm not sponsored by them. But they sponsor our hillclimbs and help in a BIG way with set up/tear down so I am happy to support them. Thanks Skip and Joe.
RIP Joe, my friend.

Well, I gotta say that the R1S is as good as a Hoosier. We will know for sure at Weatherly.

The only draw back to the R1S is the weight. They are heavier than an A6. Apparently, in the size I use, they are 4lbs heavier per tire but I have not weighed them. That is a statistic off the Tire Rack site. That's nothing a little extra hp wouldn't take care of. Or skip a few donuts on the way to work one week.....I LOVE those coffee rolls. The big ones at Dunkin Donuts. Mmmmmmm!!!!!!
