Is it still legal to use a sa2005 helmet?

Don is right, as usual. allowed helmets for this season are SA2005 and up.
SCCA typically allows the current and previous spec for helmets which right now means SA2010 and SA2005. We expect the next spec in 2015 which means all of those SA2005 helmets have at roughly 3 more years of use.
Of course all of this assumes you take of your helmet. No dropping it, throwing it (perhaps when the car breaks) and above all no crashing that results in visible contact to something solid.
