Just got in new pictures of the only Formula Vee to race the PPHC

Ken Blockhan still owns the car today and this picture is from 1972

1st year the car ran a VW 1700 cc motor, later years Ken stepped up to a VW 2180cc with a RayJay turbo and that was back in the early 70's !

2nd picture the car has a raised deck to help cool the turbo and the improved cage. Ken even had n 8mm camera mounted on the car back then.

Paul morton's car was indeed a Beach. it was cut behind the roll cage and lengthened a few inches. The added length allowed switching between a 4 cyl vw and a 6 cyl porche. the engines were mounted mid engine with a modified vw transaxle. 5 speed with limited slip differential. an interesting fact about the rear suspension, was that the axles were not supported by springs to the frame. the axles were sprung against each other. This allowed the wheels to remain in full contact with the road, while the body rolled.
The car was run at Pikes peak, chimney rock, road atlanta, sebring and the bay bottom crawl among other races.
