I'm planning on rolling west on Friday...taking off from Hershey at noon. I guess I'm rolling 81 to 68....or is 78 to 220 better??

I'm staying at Rocky Gap Park

We're leaving Fleetwood (Reading) at 11am and taking the PA Tpk (I76) West...For a $14.00 toll to Bedford, it's worth it to avoid the trucks on I78 then I81...they really push my old rig around! The mileage diff whether you get off at Breezewood or Bedford (farther) is approx. 5 miles. Further, using Carlisle as a starting point, there is only an approx. 5 mi. diff. whether you go I81 to I70 to I68 or the TP- either Breezewood or Bedford exit... Which will have the higher hills- I70 from the TP down to I68, or 220 from the TP down to Cumberland (I68)?

Mmm .... memory is a little vague from my day-trip to check-it-out, but I don't recall any Big Nasties on US220 from Turnpike to I-68. US220 follows the valley between a couple mountain ridges. Once you hit I-68, however ....

Just remember to turn EAST onto I-68 from US220. Ax me how I knows ....
