Sue,

We'll post an official notice to this effect on our website as soon as I can catch up with a couple of our guys on Monday, but yes, indeed we will be offering unimproved camping in the field between Gilpin Road and MD 144 with an entrance on to Gilpin just 150 yards west of the start line...essentially opening right on to the grid.

That field also has access to 144 via a small hard packed dirt driveway and we may use that upper portion for some "civilian" and spectator access as well.

We will also have shuttles running between major points including the field, the course and the Fire Hall. We're working around the closed section of Gilpin between the start and the 144 cross over road to reduce or eliminate any vehicle traffic in there except for gridding race cars and closely monitored foot traffic.

We're also making plans for a very fun kick-off/tech/registration party at the Fire Hall Friday night. What do you guys think about having an informal "race car show" at the Fire Hall as we will have many community folks coming out that night to drink beer, enjoy the VFD's barbeque and listen to Queen City Funk and Soul, a slick 13 piece outfit that is Cumberland's most popular bar band...complete with cufflinked backup singers and a killer horn section? The idea Friday night is to throw a party for the community and list you guys as part of the entertainment :)

Looks like we're going to have a great turn out...roughly 45 entries already as best I can gather from our various lists!

Camping

All,

Camping is near tthe start line. I asked and there is no issue with preregistration for camping. We may have to pay something as the field is owned by someone living on the hill.

Ray - we'll be glad to kick back to the landowner. Remember some of us will be down Wednesday or Thursday to ride the train. Sue
