Smart Racer - the NEW site for info ... including hillclimbs

Post by JekylandHyde »

Okay, I busted my butt over the weekend and got the site ready to be released. This is in no way a finished project. In fact, it will never be finished as it will continue to grow as racers keep contributing.

What you might find really beneficial is the in-car videos for each hill with an aerial photo of the course next to it. There are also photographic "course walks" for Giants, Rose Valley & Weatherly. I will be doing this for Reading very soon ... can somone going to the luncheon meet on the 10th drive me up Duryea to take photos?

Please, feel free to contribute. We're looking for submissions for photography, videography, writing, tips on where to stay or eat.

This is the new site: http://www.smartracer.net/

If you want your car as part of the rotating/random image in the top right corner of some pages, all you havd to do is submit something!

great website. I can see this being very useful, especially for rookies.

Thanks again for submitting Matt.

If you did not see your car up in the top right corner of the hillclimb page, just hit refresh a few times. I think there are 4 or 5 hillclimbers and the image rotates between them. As more people submit, that will grow.

Also, I have not done Jefferson or Hershey yet.
I will be starting those in the next week or so.

I concur. Great job. And I didn't even know our RX-7 could go fast enough to catch air on the jump at Weatherly
Thanks,
Geo.

Wow, sweet site. Great concept and execution. I'll be sending those vids shortly. Just gotta pull Duryea off a VHS.

Jeff,

All I can say is a great job. I think maybe you should be the "GENERAL" not me. You are a credit to our organization. Keep up the good work.

That video of Bill Miller at Weatherly, with one camera in the cockpit and the other on the nose, is one of the sweetest I've seen. That is fun to watch!

Thanks everyone ... it's been a lot of work, but well worth it I think.

Morg, I have your photo up on the random/rotate.
You can see it directly on the contributors page.

I also uploaded Kurt's (Dog Patch Racing) videos from the hills this morning. That DSR car is soooooo fast.

He should change his number to 565 since 2 of the class records he set end with that ;)
