NASCAR Fans

Post by Paul Eckstein »

NASCAR fans are something else. On several return trips from Watkins Glen to my home in
Northern Virginia I get off of 15 South onto I81 South just below Harrisburg. Late on Sunday
evening after a race at Pocono the ramps and overpasses along I81 are filled with fans that
are there just to watch the haulers go by. This has to be 130-140 miles from Pocono. These
people are really dedicated, there rain or shine. Does this happen all along the route? The
only time people stood to watch me was towing thru DC to Marlboro during the '68 riots.

What's the difference between NASCAR and PHA?

NASCAR-All the fans know the drivers' names.

PHA- All the drivers know the fans' names.

This weekend it also will happen to a smaller extent as they return to NC via RT 11-15 from Watkins Glen. My daughter will be on Front St in Liverpool.
