Hill Climb HOMETOWN winner is.....

Post by Ron Mann »

John Pitman!

John guessed 7 out of the 10! The next person had 3 out of 10.

John's answers were:
1. Reading
2. Fleetwood
3. Wilkes-Barre/Kingston
4. Freeland/Hazelton
5. Harrisburg
6. Hershey
7. Philadelphia
8. Scranton
9. Allentown
10. Lebanon

According to the data I have been collecting thus far...which includes over 3,200 entries, the top towns that hill climbers call home are as follows:

1. Reading (no one is even close!!)
2. Harrisburg
3. Philadelphia
4. Wilkes-Barre
5. Allentown
6. York
7. Lebanon
8. Williamsport
9. Scranton
10. Lancaster

Look out for the following towns to move out as I delve deeper into the archives: Camp Hill, Mechanicsburg, West Lawn, Bethlehem, Hershey, Shillington, Fleetwood, Kingston, Pottstown, Washington DC, Wyomissing, Norristown, Easton, Laureldale, Ephrata, Hummelstown, and Temple.

John will be receiving a box of Hershey's Golden Almond!!

Just wondering...was there ever anybody running any hills from Hometown, PA?

South of Hazleton and north of Tamaqua...you could look it up.

And just south of the turn off 309 for Weatherly at Walt's Drive-in (which is under new ownership). If it weren't for the traffic light, you'd miss it-Hometown that is.

Hometown might get a little more popular soon...

NEPA held an autocross at the farmer's market last year and we are going to again this year.

But besides that, they're building a Walmart super-center there. It is due to open very soon and I heard other things like Sheetz and similar are due to start being built.

I'm roughly 10 miles from Hometown. Does that count?

Only if the hillclimb PA announcer can't pronounce Nesquehoning...

As of now...I have found no driver that listed Hometown Pa as their hometown. Two drivers from Nesquehoning...Joe and another Joe...Dr. Joe Bincarowsky he was around circa 1963 to 1972. He had a Elva Courrier and a Lotus 61 formula 2 car. Is he still around??

and as far as New Jersey drivers....there were plenty of them!!

I believe that Dr. Joe Bincarowsky passed away a while back.
