Wolf Ridge Hillclimb

Post by GT1-hillclimber »

Hello gang.

This course is tough. Willl bring out the veteran hillclimbers. It reminds me of a cross between Chimney Rock and Beech Mtn. Very, very tight, speeds will be down. You will be constantly twisting the wheel, feathering the throttle. Not much time for guages! It has true hairpins, blind corners, steep grade. Also, at the top, the ski slope/trail actually tunnels under the course. Very cool. Beautiful chalets to rent, next to the paddock! No drive to a hotel!

This event is being put together by a good crew of veteran hillclimbers, from the Highlands Sports Car Club (Asheville NC area). This is the same club that use to put on Chimney Rock.

Thanks for posting this Mark!

We are really looking forward to this event! We expect it to be as famous, if not moreso than Chimney Rock after a couple years.

Are the dates firm yet? Have you resolved the conflict with Nashville?

May 19-20 is the date.

There is a conflict with the Chat. region event, however, we have reached an agreement with them that both events are still going to go forward.

This is certainly no reason to consider changing the date but I thought I'd let you know that is the weekend of Imports and Kit Cars at Carlisle. I know, for about a dozen PHA competitors, that this event is a must. That is where several of us get our funds for racing as well as getting some old crap out of our garages.

Good question, I'd love to do Snowshoe. It would be a shame to let that event die off. :(
