tach problems
Starting last season, the MGA has developed an annoying(what else?) habit of eating tachs. Figured at first it was the ancient MSD, so that was replaced & a new AutoMeter tach installed. OK for 1 race & then fried again. Replaced under warranty. Now running a Lucas sport coil & we're on tach #4. Seems to work for a while & then fry. Paul(Thanks) suggested we run the hot back to the fuse block, which we did. What about a resistor? Any suggestions on the brand of tach? What are we missing? Sue

tach
Hi Sue & David . Weburned up a few tachs on a 934 porsche with a electromotive total engine control . What finally cured it was making a stand alone harness connected to ignition and power source only. We elimated any surces through the fuse panel or any surces through the body wiring harness . Hope this helps Paul PS We have great luck with auto meter tachs..
