Ultimate Hillclimb practice?

Post by RX-Midget »

I'm headed off to have some fun down south in TN for the next 10 days. I'm taking the RX-Midget down to drive the Tail of the Dragon and be a part of the 2006 MG national convention. The DOT's went on last night and new rotors, pads and rebuilt the calipers. I'm ready! Do you think the cops will look twice if I wear my helmet and nomex?

I'm sure I'll have some video of the "Dragon". 318 curves in 11 miles!

There is also the Cherohala Skyway which looks like fun.

Brian,
Been there, done that! You will have a great time. It's an amazing road. While in North Carolina you might want to check out the Blueridge Hillclimb hill just off the Blueridge Parkway south of Sparta at Laurel Springs. I'll give you directions if your interested. You should also check out the bar at Stations Inn at the Laurel Springs exit of the parkway. A very cool place that sponsors the King of the Hill award. Really good people.

Send me a e-mail to K2Motorsports@msn.com with the info. I'm hitting the road in a few min, but hopefully I can get online in the next few days to find the directions.

Thanks,
Brian

Is this a Hill Cimb Event? For real or just a nice drive.

Kurt:
Tail of the Dragon is a "nice drive" http://www.tailofthedragon.com/.

The Sparta event is for us: http://www.blueridgehillclimb.com/

I used to attend an event called "Sharks in the Mountains", a gathering of Porsche 928s near Grandfather Mountain in NC. The roads down there are really nice. The Blue Ridge Parkway is a great drive, except in the fog. Nothng can ruin your day like a deer in the road just around that sweeper you just took at speed.
