What types of shoes are acceptable? Are nomex lined shoes such as Piloti shoes acceptable or do they have to be SFI/FIA rated?
What about Sparco Speedway?

The 2006 Time Trials Rules state: Section 17.23 item 8= "Shoes with uppers of leather and/or nonflammable material that at a minimum cover the instep. Ventilation pinholes by the manufacturer are allowed."

HI,

I wear leather sneakers but that is min specs. Piloti shoes would be great. Sparco is great if you have the money to burn.

I wear FIA rated shoes, got a good deal on ebay, also, I drive a formula car with not much foot room.

HI,

I have set of G-Force shoes for my formula ride but in a sedan sneakers are more practical. The racing shoes (whatever you buy) wear very quickly.

Cool, thanks guys. I already have the Piloti's but was afraid I had to have FIA/SFI rated shoes.

What are the rules on gloves?

With respect to gloves, the TTR states: "Gloves made of leather and/or accepted fire resistant material containing no holes." Also: "Socks made of accepted fire resistant material".
You might want to go to the SCCA website and download the TIME TRIALS RULES.
