BRZ Classification Help

Post by Chris.Marshall »

Hey all, first post here. I have a question about what class my BRZ should be in. I've read in various places that the lowest class used in hillclimb is SP, is this true? I was reading some of the different ones in the SCCA rule book and I'm wondering where my car fits in as I saw some stuff about 2+2's etc...

Here's a short description of what the car is like:
BC Racing Coils
Cat back exhaust (factory header and cats, etc...)
Larger width wheels than stock (17x9 vs 17x7 stock)
Still on street tires
Has plates/inspection
Full interior (minus the spare tire)
No cage, no harnesses (will be added of course)
Also have plans to add a better oil cooler/radiator before starting.

I know this is probably asked a lot here but a little kick in the right direction would help, that way I can look at the rules and build the car to the class I would fit best in. Any tips for building etc are greatly appreciated!

Also hello from State College!

I'm sure Mark's right with the class and Mr. Rock is probably getting you allllll squared away. That said, the important thing is to get that legal roll bar/cage and safety gear and GET OUT HERE! PHA folks will get you classed for the time being and if...er when you get hooked you'll change the car or class anyway! Thinking about making an event this year?

Ah yes, just seen your replies, thanks all. Ya the cage and safety is my biggest concern of course. I'll speak with Rich here soon!

I'm really hoping I can. Maybe one of the last ones on the calendar should the car be ready, if not, I certainly plan to come watch!
