Legends car?
Does anyone that posts on the forum run or own a legends car? I've got some questions about them, but can't seem to find anyone anywhere else willing to deal with my stupid ideas and questions...
Can anyone put me in touch with someone willing to answer my oddball inquests?

Re: Legends car?
I drive a dwarf car ( basically a legends made with better parts) and have worked on a few legends cars. What can I do for you?

Re: Legends car?
I'm wondering about the Engine Transmission options.. With fabrication work, would it be possible to run a HD Engine/Trans rather then a Yamaha? I understand it would be a decent amount of Fab work but I'd like to look into it.. I've got the resources to do it, but I wouldn't attempt it if it compromised safety..
I've been PM'ing back and forth with another member here and he's answered a lot of the questions I had so far..

Re: Legends car?
Ewwwww. It HAS been done-but the turnout is poor. The motor is very long front to back (in the car, between the frame rails side to side)-and its very heavy. And the power output is low. Not to mention the expense. And you'd have to do some serious ductwork to get air to the backside of the cylinders.
A company called Jaxsports make a street legal small car powered by a Harley motor--but they upped the dimentions a bit from the dwarf cars they make.
Any of the Jap water-cooled motors from the last 10 years are a far better choice. Cheap + plentiful.

Re: Legends car?
I hear ya... Was just an idea I was bouncing around..
I've got other ideas, but I was thinking that was the most interesting.
A turbo'd Hayabusa engine sure does sound neat

Adam,
There's lively discussion here on building BikeEngineCars, and if you go to the main page more on building sevens or most any car.

Thank you for the link.
Talking with a few people on the subject.. I've gotta sell the Mach 1 before I can mess around with this idea..

Re: Legends car?
Careful Adam,
You're talking about getting rid of a running, firebreathing real car to pursue a "someday I'll do that" project.
It's a long upgrade path to "someday"; garage needs upgrade, tools need upgrade, skills need upgrade, design library needs upgrade, ...oops, now I need an even bigger garage, etc.
I've been the king of "tomorrow" since before I got involved here three or so yrs. ago but for me the journey is the fun (I'm seriously FUBAR). If I had your Mach not sure I'd sell it to chase aircastles though.
