Fall Jefferson

Post by Rich Rock »

Just a reminder, there will be no free lunch for drivers, crew and guests. Free breakfast and lunch will be provided to workers and officials. You can call the deli and order food in advance and they will deliver it to the track. You must make your own arrangements! Contact info and a menu for the deli is on the entry form which is available on this site or at Myautoevents.com

Free dinner for everyone on Saturday. We do need desserts, so if you can contribute something, please do.

Track management tells me we can't have access until 6pm Friday and they don't want people showing up too early. They didn't specify exactly what that means, but I take it to mean that they don't want people showing up too much before 5pm. No problem (at this time) for those who wish to stay over Sunday night, the track is not being used on Monday. That could change, but I might not know for sure until Friday.

I will bring event plates from Duryea for those who did not get one.

We will need a "course truck". If you have a pickup we can use to shuttle workers and gear, maybe flat tow a car, please speak up! We'll take care of you :D

Truck is no problem as discussed. However, for the 'We'll take care of you' portion......might have to adjust Nancy's time if she gets too close to mine

Sure was a GREAT weekend at Jefferson. The weather could not be any nicer!!! The Event went VERY well!! Drivers got LOTS of track time. GREAT JOB, Rich Rock, Nelson Case and all the Stewart's and everyone that helped out. The Karting on Saturday night was a BLAST full field of drivers, workers and crew members  !!! We look forward to seeing everyone at Weatherly in 2 weeks.

The weekend was a great time! Go carting saturday night was exciting and a lot of fun with so many drivers and course workers buzzing around together. But a HUGE thanks has to go to Nelson because I just opened my email and got notification that the results are posted already. Incredible. Thank you Nelson for being exceptionally prompt and posting the results so quickly!!!

I just looked at all the results back to 2003. This was the 1st year that there wasn't a time in the 70's by the end of the weekend. Meaning, the slowest car went 69.6sec.
RIP Joe, my friend.

2009 Jefferson Group 1
I am certain I missed some folks and I’m sorry. Also, I didn’t get group 2. However, look at the list and if you see your number, you can attempt to get close to the time posted and watch yourself. Maybe you didn’t drive that line you THOUGHT you drove. This video is shot at turn 4. Also, I wouldn't try to watch this thing til like 6:30 or 7:00 tonite, maybe. It was a huge file at 1.1G or so, hehe. Gonna take youtube a while to digest it.

Sorry folks. I just looked at the video and the message is that it was rejected due to the video length being too long. I will cut it in half tomorrow evening and re-post the 2 parts.

NOTE TO ALL: I didn't post these videos to critique anyone. Just wanted to get cars in turn 4. I know when I come thru there I THINK I am close to the curbing on the inside and when Nancy video'd me, I was WAYYYYYYY off. So, no matter what line YOU drive, my video is here for YOU to critique your own line.

I use Ulead 11 software. Not sure what version they are up to but it costs about $100 and is pretty good. The options are endless. You can merge videos or even do a psuedo PnP, which I did for the Giants launch. But I gotta tell ya, attempting to get 2 cars in the video to leave at the same time is about so hair pulling.....luckily mine is falling out or it would have been out after I did it.
But you could also add music or text.

The video camera is a Sony DCR-DVD305 that records on mini-dvds. Also records in 5.1 sound which is REALLY cool when I watch them in my theater. The only drawback to the camera is that the steady shot capability really takes out the essence of what is going on in the car. Sometimes you'll watch my video and see it looks as though I jerk the wheel. That is actually the camera adjusting where it THOUGHT I was continuing the corner and I wasn't.
RIP Joe, my friend.
