I have a couple of quick questions...

Post by Joe B. »

It's been a few years since I ran the hills last, like '04, so bear with me.
As far as getting my license again, will I need to go through the novice program?
Helmet, mine is an SA2000, so I'll need a new one, correct?
5 or 6 point belts required?
All my other safety gear is still up to snuff.

Thanks All,
Joe Bartek

I believe you will only be a novice at the events you haven't run before, 5 point harness is OK- 6 is better, and your helmet is still good thru 2010.

Thanks for the info Joe, if all goes well, I'll be at Weatherly and a few others. I won't be doing Polish Mtn and both Summit Points.

Thanks Ron, but I'm not there yet, we'll see how it goes. But so far so good. The engine should be ready by the end of next month.
I picked up another car, a Supra of course, so my '85 will be strictly a hillclimb and weekend fun car.

Saw your name when I was sending out the NEPA invites for the banquet and I was planning to give you a call. Good to hear you may be out again this year. Is Dan Gurney still prepping your car?

Hughie aka Michael Schumacher,

Gurney has retired to the busy life style of ex- pro race driver touring the vintage race scene signing his name to every race car that he ran, honorary this or that, hanging out with the likes of Brian Redman. I think Joe has hired some laidoff Joe Gibbs Racing employees who worked on the #18 car. I also believe that the pissed off employees slipped a Nascar Toyota V8 past the gates for Joe to use in Street Mod. LOL!

Rich

ps Hughie, You do not start racing motorcycles at age 40!

Hughie,I wish Gurney was available. He did do a comercial for the Supra when it came out in 82.
Rich, I wish I could get ahold of one of those V-8's. It would be interesting to say the least.
I thought about Street Mod, but I'll most likely be bringing up the rear of DSP.
I'm running for the fun it, trophies or placing doesn't really matter. To be honest, I miss the atmosphere.
Working the hills just doesn't quite fit the bill, that's why I kind of vanished for awhile.

Joe,

We are just messing with you. Must be nice to have the world famous Scuderia Ferrari aka Maloney Racing crew behind Hughie.
Rich

ps Hughie, I wished that I had a T car but, you can keep Gorski on your pit crew. LOL!
