That road is narrow!

Notice how the guy was checking his phone? after the run before he parked the car.

Rich
Now if you really want to know the deep dark Swedish factory secrets to speedy vintage Saabs (or are bored) and thus be in on all of the speedy Saab racing records, watch the factory video, but, shhh....don't let the secrets out!

https://youtu.be/gbNBLBsrw2k

The factory "test track" video at the end is the best part. Very Swedish modern!

Ok, I know this isn't a Saab forum, but sometimes during the winter it's good to learn a thing or two about something outside your circle of car love.

Today's Saab excitement is fantastic vintage rally footage from the 1950's, 1960's and 1970's.

One of the rallies features Sweden beating England....YES! (must eat those words later this year) The award presentation for that one will surprise you and make you feel so proper British, yet modern. How could that be?

European, African, and Mexican rallies are included in the footage.

Erik Carlsson, very famous Swedish rally driver is featured. Great driver of his day. Highly regarded by his homeland as a hero.

Side bar: I had the opportunity to meet Erik Carlsson at a Saab Owners Convention held at Hershey some years ago. I was advised Erik Carlsson liked to pinch female buttocks. That was a red flag to a bull! I proceeded to ask who is Erik Carlsson and walked up to him and said something like this, "Hello Erik, my name is Mary Anne Fieux and I was informed you like to pinch women's 'a____s'." His eyes opened wide as I proceeded to pinch his buttocks! His arms opened up and his big, long, strong Swedish arms embraced me with a hug which will never be forgotten until I join him in heaven and seek out a second hug!

For those who are open to a little more Saab footage during this snowy Pennsylvania day...enjoy!

A little long, but worth watching this great footage from days gone by. The rallies were held on continents that were deemed exotic, since the world was large during that era of time. Unlike now, the planet has become quite small through advances in technology.

Again, enjoy!
