'Twas The Night Before Christmas

Post by Rich Rock »

Here's the sequel to last year's poem, (where Santa and the reindeer crashed trying to set a new hill record).....

'Twas the night before Christmas
And in Santa's shop
The elves were quite busy
They were racing the clock

Santa's sleigh was not ready
Wasn't even close
They were in a panic
And losing all hope

Each one of them knows
Toys are their forte
What made them think
They could fix this big sleigh?

Santa had been there
An hour before
Said "You guys need some help"
And he stormed out the door

The elves were upset
Some were in tears
When the door flew open
In rode hillclimbers on reindeer

Santa told the elves
To get out of their way
"These are the people
I want working on my sleigh"

They're used to the pressure
Of a last-minute thrash
They've all made a comeback
After they crashed.

It didn't take long
To come up with a plan
And in just a few hours
The thing was down off the jackstands

Santa wanted fresh paint
But there just was no way
He had to settle
For one coat of primer grey

It may not be red
But Santa knows
This sled will pass tech
Wherever he goes
