Are there any camping options at Weatherly? If so, are there any facilities?

No hookups at the hill. Some of us have RVs, others sleep in their trailers or tow vehicles. No info on private campgrounds but Hickory Run SP isn't too far.

Space is pretty tight at Weatherly. People get there SUPER early (like, Thursday afternoon) to get their spots. No facilities other than Portas. Hickory Run has a little lake with a beach that's good for a refreshing "swim" ; ) but it's about a 30 minute drive. I've slept in my truck, pitched a tent in the woods and stayed at hotels a couple times.

It looks like "white water challenges" aka "adventure campground" is nearby and had showers, bathrooms, etc. I might give them a try.

My first time at Weatherly.

I have read the info on the PHA page regarding the event. Still have a couple logistics questions.

We are staying in a hotel a few minutes away from the hill in Hazelton and expect to bring the van, car and trailer (open) over Friday morning. Is there someone pointing out spots to set up along Laurel St. (which I assume is the Paddock) or is it pretty much wherever you find something? Are there any restrictions or things we need to avoid doing in order to not be told to move later? The van is not only our tow but our transportation back to the hotel but is the rest of our stuff safe in the paddock overnight Friday and Saturday?

Thanks.

Typically, you'll park your trailer in the gravel/dirt lot by the Foundry and leave your car/equipment/gear at your pit spot on Laurel St. There won't be a whole lot of room in the pits to park the van (and then get it in and out), if at all. Once my truck was parked last year it had to stay where it was. If you can park at the Foundry (able to walk to your pit spot) that might be the easiest.

Everything should be safe, we never have any worries, but I would take anything that is crazy valuable with you just in case. Pit area is sort of a free for all, cannot keep trailer in pit area, but there is an area down the street where it can be parked.

What we typically do is pull into pits with truck and (large) trailer, unload both cars and park in the pits. Take trailer down the street to trailer jail, and use truck for transportation rest of weekend. You will have to park your van outside pit area, with 100ish cars it gets tight!

Don't worry though. Everyone is very helpful, if in question just say you are new and ask someone and they will guide you in the right direction.

Thanks for the info.

I guess I will have to see how things get set up and where people put their service vehicles. I dont care how far away the trailer is but the van needs to be reasonably handy to wherever my car ends up, and I will need to be able to drive it at the end of each day.

The Foundry you mention...Is that the place that occupies the whole block across from the fire house?

How do people service their cars?

You can usually park close enough that your tow vehicle is within a reasonable walk.

Yes.

We bring what we need in the race cars and leave it in the pits. Anything that needs to be done is done in the pit area.

I am not yet registered. Is there a way to still register for the Weatherly Spring Hill climb? It’s showing registration closed as of June 2 at 12 AM. Also my helmet was manufactured 08/2009. Is that still legal?

From the Weatherly Hillclimb Facebook page on Sunday (emphasis mine):
"We're pleased to announce that registration closed with 97 preregistered drivers! With walk up entries still being accepted, this might turn into a record event!"

Helmets need to have the SA2010 sticker or newer. There are a couple other helmets accepted, like FIA, but I don't know what years.
