Hill Live Timing

Post by Nelson »

We are thinking of doing Live Timing updates at the hills.
We would upload results every so often to an internet site and you would be able to look at the results with you phone or tablet.
If you couldn't make the event, look at them from home.
Take the poll and let use know what you think.

I would really enjoy getting my time at the top, however I would have to get it from someone with a smart phone.

On the road courses, we use Race Monitor dot com. Very usefull. Easy instant update but needs transponders. Maybe they have a manual input module that would work?
The cool thing about Race Monitor is you can monitor Pro Races and other amature events as well. I have even seen autocross results posted.
You have to buy the app for smart phones. $5 or $6 for basic (only real time results shown). More expensive for Plus which keeps history of current and past events.

Count me in as a yes. (I logged vote)

I like the live update idea. BUT, maybe not for those at the hill. If you're close to your competitor, isn't it more fun to watch him/her RUN to the board to check the last time you ran? Then again, if you're really close, you'll know how he/she is doing by how far they launch their phone across the pits........hmm.......I could hack the site and get FTD with no problem. Yes, live timing it is!!!!
RIP Joe, my friend.

Must go faster!!!!

It's working!

Go to www.hilltiming.com to see results from Saturday at Giants and to see times on Sunday (updated every five minutes).
