Pre-Duryea hillclimb drag race

Post by mrevilracing »

No, not at the hill!!!!!

A bunch of us are going to Maple Grove friday night before Duryea. We are looking for more hillclimbers to bring their cars. Doesn't matter what tires you run on: streets, hillclimb or DRs. Either way, we're going. If ya want to come watch, that's cool too. Maple Grove is only like 10 or so miles down the street from Reading.

You can follow what's going on prior to the event here..... http://www.racepa.com/content/index.php?topic=8641.0

Anyone else wanna join the crazies at Maple Grove? We would love to have 1 or a few open wheel cars. Haven't heard back from Maple Grove on rules regarding them running there but I can't imagine they wouldn't allow it. Ya don't have to run 100%. Just come out and buzz down the 1/4 with us.

Chuck and MaryAnne. You guys should bring the SAAB!!!!!

Sounds like a hoot - very cool idea!

Probably not in the cards for me though, complicates the weekend a little too much for me.

Here it comes!!! Whether you are planning to come down and run the 1/4 with us or not, come and spectate at least. We'll be bugging people in the pits to get down there as soon as possible to check us out.

Yeah, we need some people to come out, whether you run or not. A couple have already pussed out, but most of the core group will still be there.

Well, I got around to holding up my end of the drag race bargain (Steve, Dan, Mike, Ray, Ray, Hunter, Jer, etc., your turn) tonight.

Car ran 13.1@110, with a 2.05 60'. I was a bit disappointed in the ET, surprised at the high mph. Ran 13.3, 13.3, 13.2, then 13.1. The Hoosier A6 was OK once some heat was in them, which I was having a hard time getting. The emergency brake would not hold the car in the burnout box. With some heat in the tires I would fully expect high 12s, not tonight though.
