One of the "special" awards at the 2010 Banquet last night.

Here's one of the special awards that were presented at the banquet last night: In order for those who were not able to attend, the following is quoted from the speech written by John Pitman to present this award:

"And now, for a very special one time award. I would like to give you some background on this award: There is among us one competitor who is, in his own way, absolutely reliable and indispensable to the operation of an efficiant Hill Climb. He is the herald for group drivers; without his on time, reliable performance, we in group 2 would be lost as to when we should suit up and get in line to race.

He is the first to the line 99% of the time; if he leaves an event early, group 2 fumbles in confusion: Who is last in group 1? How much time do we have? How many cars before we go? But...thanks to him, that is a rare occurance and the events run smoothly.

In order for him to accomplish this feat takes GREAT TIME and effort. He is in the car VERY EARLY, absolutely first in the group. He sits there, patiently WAITING for group 1 to finish, occasionally growling at late comer group 1 drivers. He spends UNTOLD TIME, SITTING, in his Nomex, strapped in, in the summer heat, so that we can see him and know that our turn is coming up.

At the top of the hill, it is the same, he is at the head of the line to return; but the key is when he gets in his car...we wait... and watch. When he mounts up we know we only have another 15 minutes or so.

Now the PHA has class trophies, over-all trophies and a trophy for the most miles in competition; but in order for this driver to accomplish his goals, HE MUST SPEND MORE TIME ON HIS SEAT than any other driver.

This admirable effort is worthy of appreciation and recognition. Accordingly, we have had a custome made, DUAL PURPOSE, trophy prepared to recognize his efforts. Ladies and gentlemen of the PHA, I am proud to present the "Seat Time Award" to Morg Wilson"
