Re: 2010 AWARDS BANQUET Information
KUDOS to Nancy and Steve Lewis for their mighty and successful efforts in pulling off a fun banquet. WELL DONE!!
For those of you who had beef and thought it was a bit dry.....well, there may be a missing Llama........
Congrats to Jerry Hartman on his induction to the Hall of Fame and Walter Rice (deceased) also an inductee. Attaboys to all of the season class championship winners, the over all winner (Kurt Eikenburg) and Grace for the most miles run. Oh, and Morg for presenting another GREAT poem and his receipt of the Seat Time Award (see in a different thread, posted by PitCrewLinda). A special thanks to the Liverpool Motor Club for the award of a bull horn to the soft spoken Driving Instructor (yrs truly). The osCARS went to: For set design: Wankerville, accepting Patti & Tim. For special effects, Mike Robinson in One Tree Hill. Best supporting actor/actress went to Grace & Keith for their wireless efforts
IF you missed the banquet, shame on you. But it will be done again next year, very probably at the same place, same time.

Re: 2010 AWARDS BANQUET Information
Did any one explain who Walt Rice was?
He was one of the many friends I raced with from the Williamsport Sports Touring Club in the late 60"s.
Great person! Just wanted to be sure some one gave a short presentation about him.

Larry,
Dan gave an excellent explanation of his involvement in our sport and his many accomplishments. Wish I would have known him.

Thanks Morg
That's great!
He and Charley Strouse use to run Porsches together.
Charley still has the Speedster and has had it restored.

Re: 2010 AWARDS BANQUET Information
Larry - Is Chuck Stine, from the Williamsport area, still around? He was my instructor at Hyner in 1963.

Re: 2010 AWARDS BANQUET Information
John
Not sure if he is still around.
For a long time Chuck's family had a furniture store in Lock Haven but I think it closed.
I remember when several of us went up to prepare for Hyner Hillclimb in Chucks Corvair van. He drove that thing like a Porsche. We made record time up and back. Scared the heck out of me!
He also had a 30's Mercedes Benz parade car in his garage. Heck of a driver and a lot of fun. I believe he drove a Fiat Abarth but it has been a long time ago.
