Yes, I do know the answer and it has nothing to do with PHA nor SCCA. Fillman did a lot of raod racing with EMRA, they had a budget version of Fv, called FV Continential; which I think everyone had to run a Continential tire. Hense, the C part of FVC. EMRA still has a budget version of Fvee with a 14x6 wheel and Kumho tire package, which still being used by our northern Olymipc neighbors and was unsuccessfully tried by MARRS and NARRC.

And yes that is a Bobsy Vega that Dave is driving. Levan is in an Autodynamics, Jen and Scott are in the same Zeitler.

BTW, I do have a set of 14x6 wheels and tires for a Vee.

Wow, I forgot about John Grubb. I know him more from his car prep days(JandJ Racing) with the Bosch Super Vee series and Toyota Atlantic series than hillclimbing.

I'm still guessing Ron Fieni. Can we assume John Pitman is #2? I keep trying to remember the husband/wife team that ran a blue & white Vee back in the 80s. He was pissed because she beat him at the final Weatherly. Then she announced she was preggers. Never saw them again. Sue

Ron Fieni was a Fvee guy but, most of his PHA days were in a C Sedan Bug. My guess on #1 is Chuck Madison, he ran for many years and usually had automatic wins, especially against me and my tin can.

I think that couple that you mentioned had a last name of Miller and lived near Perkasie because they stopped by at Duryea and we got a talking and we realize what a small world it was and I think they still had the D-13 that they drove. I almost forgot about them, I wanted to check out the D-13 and never did.

8 years too late but FVC does stand for Formula Vee Continental. This was an EMRA class in the early to mid 1980s. Everyone ran 155SR15 Continental radial tires. Continental sold us the tires for $25 each if I remember correctly. I ran a 1968 Bobsy Vega in EMRA. I used the same 35 year old tires on my 1965 Bobsy Vanguard at the recent BMR autocross at Classic Auto Mall. Parking the car under a tarp in the woods for over a decade was a bad idea. I am surprised it still ran.

Thanks for clearing things up. My formula vee gained a roof, lost 3 cylinders, no suspension.
