Dry Sump Oil Tank Placement??

Post by yallgotboost »

Been looking through the rules never really know what my car falls under. Is it legal to place my dry sump tank in the car? I have it in the rear pass seat location. Will SCCA want it boxed off from the driver area? Ive seen car with it in the drivers compartment. But never really could find the rules on it. Thanks guys!!

Also where can I go around bucks county PA for pre season tech?

A Tech will no more than me but I am pretty sure that the tank will need a bulkhead of some sort. Something that will keep hot oil from leaking/spraying inside the car on to you. One of the funniest bulkheads for an oil tank I have seen was in an old GT-1 Vette. He used a 5 gallon metal trash can. It fits perfect around the oil tank and meets the safety requirements for roadracing.
