Re: The Bad Old Days

Did you ever the the video of the 12 cylinder engine launched out of a Ferrari (I think) and flying into the crowd at Le Mans? I wish I had it to post and a means to show spectators. Up real close can be hazardous.

Re: Very interested in getting behind the wheel!

Darn. It is too bad Morg got rid of his S2 special with the frog logos. Frogs and snails would go well together. Ok Morg, what will the new theme be (besides that bandido we have seen)?

Re: Videos Needed

Hmmm, an interesting basis to start up a team for 2011. If a sponsor appears and the teams wins anything, it could donated to the Breast Cancer organization. The team shirts would certainly raise an eyebrow or two, but that is the price of increasing awareness.

Re: Very interested in getting behind the wheel!

All of our events are sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America. So, you must be a member of the SCCA. A variety of competition licenses are acceptable. If you do not have one, download the application for a Time Trial Novice Permit, and mail it in. Take care in completing the medical self-evalua...

Re: Hello and running a Miata with only a roll bar?

The Jefferson circuit is about on par with a road circuit for danger. Of course you can get upside down anywhere, but there is decent runoff room around the track. If you make to an event, it the novice instructor will point a couple of places that can bite you. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Re: Hello and running a Miata with only a roll bar?

As you work your way through the decision process about rear only roll bar vs a roll cage, go to the PHA museum/archives, which can be found in some of these threads or on Facebook. Look at the "Not all fun and games" photography. I know you have been around a while, and are aware that hil...

Re: considering getting a car

If you are really interested in wheel to wheel racing with a significant pucker factor, consider Formula Vee. Other advantages besides the adrenalin rush are: Not particularly expensive, but no racing is cheap. Most any car you find will be "mostly prepared" as they are purpose built race ...

Right! And for a touch more clarification, that neat little light you see on the back of formula cars is a rain light, not a brake light.

Re: Wrist restraints

I looked at the restraint. The stitching pulled apart where the strap attached to the arm band. I looked at the brand and noted only that I never heard of that brand before. Shame on me, I should have logged it somewhere. Rich R., did the accident report comment on the restraint failure? John
