Re: Time Trials Classing
I split this discussion off from the original topic thread because I think it deserves it's own topic. To answer a question I have seen asked in various forms, there are a few reasons that time trials does not have it's own classes. First, the intent of the program is to provide greater flexibility ...

Re: New Website Administrator(s)
As the divisional chief, I am still in charge of the permanent numbers however I suspect at some point I may have to work out how to update the list shown on the website. In the meantime the list online may not always be up to date but rest assured that if I have sent you a reply or talked to you th...

Re: 2011 Time Trials Rules (TTR) and More!
Sue, there is no requirement to display the program sticker on competition vehicles. The program is heavily based on street cars and not everyone is happy to put stickers on their baby. I would disagree that the design is all about flat tracks, it is about racing against the clock which is what we d...

2011 Time Trials Rules (TTR) and More!
For everyone's information the 2011 TTR has just been put up on the SCCA site for download. You should be able to get to it from this link http://www.scca.com/contentpage.aspx?content=44 . No major changes for this year, mostly just some clean up items. Based on input from the Time Trials Safety com...

Re: CLimb to the clouds
There are only 70 entries being considered and 10 of those are already alloted to the vintage folks. Just to clarify, Paul and I had a lengthy conversation about this event earlier in the planning phase and they have some very tight restrictions on the # of entries. 70 may be the total entry count ...

Re: SA 2000 Helmets Okay for 2011?
The extension of the helmet rule is because of the delay in the SA2010 being released so late in 2010. As for the SFI 38.1 ruling there is currently NO plans to apply this to Time Trials. If you feel it should be required you can request the committee to consider it. If you don't I strongly suggest ...

Re: Lloyd & Bert Geib
My understanding of the vote was that we would no longer allow anyone to reserve the number "111" but that it would be available for use at an event, just as any other reserved number that isn't being used that weekend. It appears we may need to clarify the intention at the next PHA meetin...

Wow Steve, that was 2 for 1. Pointing out that I am getting old and picking on Morg.
Seriously though, thanks for the happy birthday. It's hard to believe it still another 7 months to the next PHA event when you guys have to at least pretend to respect me.

Re: Weatherly notes
There can certainly be some improvement in numbering but keep two things in mind. 1) An incident is called as "Emergency, emergency, emergency, Turn X" The car number is not required as our first priority is getting traffic stopped. By the time that is done timing can tell control what car...

Re: Summit Point Track Trial - 26 Sep 2010
I can see the advantage of having the transponder as far forward as possible in road racing. If it comes down to a "photo finish" you want yours to be the first one across the line.. That would be true. . . except positions are not determined by the transponder. Timing and scoring has &qu...
