Re: Head Restraint 36 sq. in. X 1"?

You are required to have a head rest to prevent whiplash. See page 106 of the GCR 9.3.4.1 A system of head rest to prevent whiplash and rebound, and also to prevent the driver’s head from striking the underside of the main hoop shall be installed on all vehicles. Racing seats with integral headrests...

Re: Head Restraint 36 sq. in. X 1"?

It refers to the minimum surface area and thickness of the restraint (re: padding) behind your helmeted head (not to be confused with a head and neck restraint).

Re: New guy, SCCA club permit

You beat me to it Rick A novice road racing permit is OK as far as your eligibility to compete. As part of applying for a SCCA road racing completion license, part of your application for a novice permit should have included a completed SCCA medical form dated not more than 6 months prior to your ap...

Re: Race Suit Class Requirement?

...........What classification does the fire/driving suit need to be for a SCCA event? I am checking out stuff online but see so many different levels, layers, codes etc... Most people wear a one piece, two or three layer suit. There is a minimum standard for a two layer suit and you must wear fire...

Re: SCCA Inspection in Richmond VA?

First, beome familiar with the GCR and time trial rules especially as they pertain to your vehicle and the classification it falls under. http://www.scca.com/clubracing/content.cfm?cid=44472 You may want to contact the ODR or WDC Region to find out who may live close by that could help quide you. ht...

Re: 2014 Fall Jefferson

I also enjoyed running the expanded circuit. It was faster than what I had anticipated it would be and the layout had a good flow. The only problem area on the new portion was the rough patches that have been mentioned. I adjusted my line to minimize the impact of the rough spots but that obviously ...

I am not sure of how many, but some competitors receive discounts for parts /service either from direct sponsorship or indirectly by maintaining a customer profile for driving/using a certain manufacturer's product. Mazdaspeed Motorsports Development is one. In order to qualify for discounted rates ...

Radio Frequencies

Does anyone have a complete list of the radio frequencies used by PHA for the various venues? My wife is visually impaired and likes to listen to what is going on during the events. I usually manage to find them but then forget which ones are which. If someone has a list, I'm going to type them out ...

Re: 2013 Polish Mountain Hill Climb

Morgan makes some good points. Point number nine is especially important in that an event that does not at least break even puts a strain on the host region and organizers and may have to be dropped if not financially viable. I have heard peole say that it just to far away (????????). The members of...

[/b]ote="georgebowland"]Nelson, Now there's a brain teaser. At first look, it seems altogether fair, but I'm sure someone will find problems with it. It might be a good way to award the overall championship points, rather than the current system. Sort of a handicapped/PAX method of looking...
