Re: 2019 PHA Banquet

If you haven't sent your registration to John yet, you need to do it soon. The hotel wants to know how many by October 25, so John needs to know by October 24.

We do plan to have door prizes, so please try to contribute.

Thanks,

Rich

Congratulations to Ted Klaus, Jr

If you don't follow IndyCar racing, this might come as news to you. PHA member Ted Klaus, Jr became President of HPD (Honda Performance Development) earlier this year. It's the latest chapter in his storied career with Honda, which includes many significant accomplishments. This year, under Ted's le...

Email Scam

If anyone receives or has received an email, supposedly from me, asking them to purchase some gift cards on my behalf, IT'S A SCAM! Just ignore it. Three people have contacted me in the past week asking if this email request was legit. If you are, or have been a target of this scam, like I said, jus...

2020 PHA Schedule

Being a leap year, the 2020 calendar is a little "different". The dates listed have been confirmed to me by the event hosts. The Reading dates will likely be decided at the BMR meeting this week, and the entire schedule will be made official at the November PHA meeting Jefferson...May 23-2...

Re: PHA Banquet Hotel Rooms

The hotel is now taking room reservations for our 2019 banquet November 2. Basically the same details as last year. Best to call the hotel direct, and do it SOON! The hotel always sells out.

Re: 2019 Fall Shenandoah TT

Contract says 6pm. Sometimes we get in earlier, but don't count on it. There's PLENTY of room there, so even if you arrive late, you'll be able to find a good spot in the paddock.

Re: Engine Coolant

Sue, that's exactly the way to do it. I should add that distilled water works best. The most popular vintage racing organization in the northeast is VRG. On their tech sheet, there's a check off line that says "no antifreeze". Only exception to that rule is for events that run on weekends ...

Re: Hillclimb License Physical

For this year the answer is "no". For this year everyone must sign what SCCA calls a "Fitness Statement" at every PHA event. Next year, hillclimbs might go back to requiring a doctor's physical, but for the rest of our 2019 season, all anyone must do is sign the Fitness Statement...

2019 Duryea

Just a reminder about the refund policy for Duryea. It's on page two of the event information document which is on the "schedule/results" page of this website.

It states that no refunds will be issued for cancellations made after August 9.

Engine Coolant

We had a cleanup at Polish Mountain that took a couple hours (and a fire truck to hose down the road) to complete. This was due to a large spill of engine coolant, so I want to remind everyone that for our events, the use of anything other than water (with the appropriate amount of water wetter) is ...

What Dave said.

It's very important that this event has a good driver count.

Re: 2019 Spring Jefferson Poll 2

Because we now have volunteers to work grid, the plan is to run it the way we have been. Pods doing laps, groups based on lap times. THANK YOU, volunteers!

Registration should open in a couple weeks. Please register early.

Thanks!

Re: 2019 Spring Jefferson Poll 2

We do the Summit Point events because we don't have anything else available those two weekends and year after year enough people show up and the events don't lose money. Many drivers like Spring Jefferson because they think of it as a sort of test&tune in preparation for the Hillclimb season. We...

Re: 2019 Spring Jefferson Poll 2

We tried going different directions many years ago, but because we had to stop early on Saturday, had to have a novice orientation on Sunday morning, some people could not run, or had to leave early on Sunday, it wasn't popular. Also, many felt they were just getting into the groove by the end of Sa...
