Steve - I know what you mean about great instructors. I had Col. Joe Houser for Summit & Tom Aquilante for Pocono. You youngsters will just have to look those two up! One word of caution - roadrace parties aren't as good. Some of those guys are way too serious. In GProd we had a couple of driver...

Now if you can just convince the drivers who have NO PADDING or are running pipe insulation that's 25 years old. But then Vintage cars never crash, right? I'm a P.I.A. , now it's your turn, Jeff. Thanks, Sue

Two questions Matt. What are you driving & where does the yellow car go? He's up in the air & then just disappears. Sue

Grace - those are OK directions for someone driving a street car to the hill but DO NOT TOW that way!! The hill is way too steep for what most of us tow with. Stay on the Trunpike & get off at the Pocono exit. Take 80 West to White Haven, left off the ramp & another left at the bar at top of...

Enjoy the weekend Steve. I feel slightly guilty not going but I don't want to fight the holiday traffic from Atlantic City. There's no route from here that won't be clogged solid. Maybe we'd chance it for a hill, but flat tracks just don't make it for me. We'll toast you all with a few beers at the ...

Thank You BMR

I still can't believe how well Pagoda ran!! I'm such a pessimist/whiner - when I saw all those cars & a ton of novices, I was sure we'd only get a few runs. Lots of track time, polite officials who kept the drivers informed. Whatever you did, please patent it!! Better yet - can the whole crew ta...

The article I read yesterday noted that Pikes Peak is the 2nd oldest race after Indy. Guess they still consider Giant's as a revival, rather than a long running event. Even Indy wasn't continuous. Looks like we need a public relations agent! Sue

Shopping for an enclosed trailer

David & I are starting the hunt for an enclosed trailer - got spoiled pitting with Chuck Christ. I'd welcome suggestions - E-Bay, local dealers? If the price is close, I'd rather throw the business to someone connected with PHA. Thanks, Sue

Perhaps when we've all had a chance to reflect on the event, PHA can make a few constructive suggestions to the Hershey organizers. The extremely inconvenient tech situation needs to be addressed & the officials could learn a lot from attending a PHA event. Our sanctioned events are much more dr...

Jefferson

I know I'm a broken record on this subject but I don't think ANY event should count for double points, especially when it isn't even a HILL!!! The whole idea was originally just a gimmick to get more drivers to a far away event & make $$$ Don't care which way you run it but no double points. Sue

Longest hillclimb

Mt. Equinox VT. is 6 miles with a mile long straightaway on a saddle between the two peaks. Awesome, but it's only for vintage cars now. We've run it about 6 times, some years you can't race to the top because of fog. Being on the top with lightning below you is quite a sight. Sue

Mel - We are SO old! I have a picture of my MGA at the Berwick Road Races in 59. It had the ugliest rollbar, when most of the cars had none. In the shot are Carl Mugford & John Noble in black & white striped Offical shirts.

welded rear

The guy who welded ours made little pieces to block the gears from moving & then welded to them. If you just weld the spiders, the shock will probably crack the welds over time. Ask me what happens then - a long story that involves 3 barrel rolls & 2 endos. Sue

Berwick Road Races

I have old crinkly edged photos( of my MGA) which are labeled "Berwick Road Races 1958". One of the shots features Carl Mugford & John Noble in striped Offical shirts. Naturally my piece of junk is the one with the big ugly roll bar. Sue
