Re: Roll Bar Question
I really wouldn't recommend trying to save weight in the rollbar, would just go with DOM, the difference in a four point is going to be a few pounds. Hopefully someone that actually knows the mystery rules chimes in, the PHA doesn't follow the SCCA's rules, they have chosen to ignore the new TT rule...

Re: New Time Trials Rules
I sense a lot of animosity about the fact that the "PHA" or really the regions that make up PHA did not seem to have a say in the new rules. I guess i am very curious as to what exactly went down. Did the PHA have a rep at the National convention where this all started? Did the PHA addres...

Re: New Time Trials Rules
I lost not one but two stainless steel braided brake lines coming into the last turn at fall jefferson on sunday this year. I had visually inspected those lines the night before as I switched to a different set of tire. I didn't see anything to suggest they were ready to fail. Its for this very rea...

Re: New Time Trials Rules
Not the best way to not want to start an argument by calling a very respected hillclimber ignorant. What do you guys propose to draw people to the sport? Keep it the way it was? Things needed to be changed. I won't even get started on some of these jokes that pass for cages. Not sure how some piece ...

Re: New Time Trials Rules
I like "loosening" up the rules to bring more to the sport. I think the real issue is classing. It would piss a ton of regulars off, but would be better for the future. There are too many classes, they need to be cut in half. Especially the autocross based classes make absolutely no sense ...

Re: Hillclimbers - Come to the Dragon MARCH 22-23!
Come on guys... not one comment? Not one..."I'll come represent PHA!" I would love to see some of the best come and compete... I think there would be surprises from both groups! I'm trying to think what excuse you could have for not coming.... 1.) "Event is on top of ours.......

Re: Hill Climb in Northern Italy
Pretty sure I remember Jer telling me that if they caught someone at Mt. Washington they were supposed to overtake them. They also wouldn't stop if someone broke down or whatever.

Re: Newbie
I would read the rules again! Welcome. Your car with reasonable mods would fall into FSP (with more extensive mods SMF). Basically what you need to run with us safety equipment wise is.. Four point rollbar with diagonal Five or six point harnesses Fire extinguisher Fire suit SA rated helmet Ju...

Re: Falken Azenis RT615K to Hoosier R6
Jefferson is hard on everything. The R6 is fine, even for hillclimbs, IMO. I have run them on 3 or 4 different cars (including autocross) and while not quite as fast as an A6, leaps and bounds better than the Falkens.

Re: Falken Azenis RT615K to Hoosier R6
On a hill like Duryea they could be worth 4+ seconds. It all depends on how hard the car is being driven. 10/10s to 10/10s all things being equal, at least 1 to 2 seconds per minute on course. I prefer the A6 to R6, but they are nowhere near as bad as some say they are (R6) on hills. I have run many...
