Re: Jefferson

Sure, look, three cars with similar times doing three laps will mostly keep the spacing. [snip] And nobody needs to fight for track space nor get around a slower car in order to get a clean lap (under the clock, anyway.) With these ideas in mind, I believe the most concerns of both solo time trial ...

Re: Jefferson

I get very tired of so called officials telling us how we can't handle a little challenge to our reflexes. I will make only one comment and then I am done with this discussion and anything else that comes from your keyboard. This type of statement above is why I can't have any kind of discussion wi...

Re: Jefferson

Sorry we missed the event. However, Matt, the above idea posted by Rich is an EXCELLENT idea. I don't understand why there wouldn't be enthusiasm regarding limited passing. I would assume that the lap you passed on wouldn't count if you caught the car in a corner and had to wait to pass. Well, I wa...

PHA Forum Downtime

As many of you noticed the forum was down for the better part of the week due to a problem with a software update. My apologies for the extended technical issues, repairs needed to be coordinated with tech support from both the website hosting service and the forum software developers. I believe we ...

Re: Rose Valley Hillclimb

Well, I had hoped to connect with Tom before announcing this, but since you have brought it up. . . There has been much discussion about the condition of the hill after heavy rains and flooding. Larry Long was also able to complete a hillclimb site inspection to get an official judgment and unfortun...

Re: NJMP PDX Instructors and Drivers Wanted

No timing will be done however if you have a transponder, I might be able to convince them to post times. Just to be clear, timing at PDX events is strictly forbidden in any shape or form. Anyone found taking times for themselves or others will be removed from the site. PDX's are highly focused on ...

Re: Rule Compliance

The history of this matter goes back far longer than Street Mod. There are still some people around who have a first hand perspective but it is more a matter of hillclimbing not requiring cages at the same time that club racing added that rule. It predates almost everyone's involvement. When the Tim...

Re: Rule Compliance

If the rules do not say a car must comply to all safety rules in a GCR class then, what rules are the officials enforcing??? The TTR provides very specific exemptions to the rules that were/are based on the long standing Solo I rules. Grace, you have run for a number of years with the same configur...

First, I'm glad someone is paying attention, although I wish you would have put this up earlier in the holiday weekend when I had more time. Second, pay attention to the comments below. Some things are easy fixes, others I need input for. Anyone is welcome to help round up info. Here are some issues...

Re: Time Trial on Shenandoah Circuit at summit Halloween weekend

I disagree. PHA should only be concerned about making sure drivers are interested in the PHA series. Other organizations can build their own series that hopefully mesh well with the same market if drivers. What PHA shouldn't forget is the market for entries is not infinite. If another series is begu...

Re: noise control

It appears we have now moved into the stage where there is more restating (and in some cases mis-stating) of positions than new data or thoughts. I would strongly suggest that we prepare to have the discussion at the PHA meeting later in the month rather than turn this into an ugly internet argument...

Re: Time Trial on Shenandoah Circuit at summit Halloween weekend

The issue of using Shenandoah (at least in my mind) has little to with the format or layout and everything to do with cost. SPR charges the same for that track as they do for the main course, or roughly twice what Jefferson costs. With the track rental being such a high percentage of the entry fee I...

Re: noise control

Matt, you can answer this: is it possible that each region can have their own set of supps? For example, NEPA could state: f. Noise limiters are suggested for any car whose sound level is above the decibel levels outline in the GCR. and BMR could state: f. Decibel levels may not exceed 95db . ??? I...

Re: noise control

I have been in favor of the common sense approach, however it appears there are a few people unwilling to follow suggestions. There are individuals that have stated a rule is required before they will change their behavior and so we will start talking about what rule is needed.
