Re: Duryea waiting lines
Or, maybe we should establish a run order within each group or create 4 or 5 subgroups of ten or so cars and call them to the line when it's time? Either of these would probably require at least one person working the pit road as a marshal. Rich Rock If it worked this way in the 60s and 70s, no rea...

Re: CLimb to the clouds
Well, the first post on this page has a link to our web site, and on it there's a link to the twitter account that Matt (driver) was posting to all weekend (and I think he posted alot to his facebook account). Great adventure, like nothing else I could imagine. If there's a next year, MAYBE I'll try...

We're running Burke Mt hillclimb this weekend to get Matt seat time in the car with this setup before Mt Wash. Anyone else going there?

If you've been to Bill Shields Duryea party
Come out this Saturday to a "real" rally cross and watch or try it on yourself in your street car. Bring your own helmet or they'll have loaner helmets. Phila region Rally cross in Kempton PA. http://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/event/event.advert/uidEvent/EEAD7AC1-905E-B830-7C980708073...

Re: CLimb to the clouds
Good to hear. I'm still waiting for supps, firm schedule and posting of all entries! Wonder when that is going to happen. I know it's more than 2 months to go yet. But I don't see paying the entry if I don't know what the refund policy is, etc!

Re: CLimb to the clouds
Just found out yesterday that our entry was accepted (rally class). I was thinking of running the "new" Pagoda but we'll be at a "bigger" hillclimb that weekend. Matt's driving and I'm co-driving. Wish us luck.

Re: Great Pics from Wellsboro Winter Rally
I'd be curious to hear his thoughts after attending some hills after his first exposure was a rally (not that this one was a "typical" rally) It must have been fun being a true "snow" event, not an ice event.

Re: New Member Intro with a Gift!
As I remember it when I ran it in 1970 or 1971, it wasn't a very complex hill, only 1 or 2 real turns? Does anyone else concur? Of course any road you can race on is better than none.

I had already mentioned that one to him but he said no! IIRC, that was over in Hellertown area (I was never there)?

Re: Hillclimb in Emmaus or Macungie in the 60's?
No chance. He was born and raised in Pennside (Reading). I worked with him in Topton in 1969. He said it started only a block or 2 off of main street. Dave Sekella, who has lived in Fleetwood all his life (and is my age, owns Susquehanna Motorsports) seems to remember it, but no details.

Hillclimb in Emmaus or Macungie in the 60's?
Talking to an old friend today who started attending hillclimbs before me. He remembers a hillclimb in either Emmaus or Macungie in the 60's. I was born and raised in Emmaus and basicly lived in the area until 1970 and am not familiar with any event. The first hillclimb I was exposed to was Fleetwoo...

Re: Greetings from Vermont
I've run Duryea (The best hill IMHO, and one of the only ones worth while running) several times in my 1st gen Impreza rally car which I run several times a year in RA and NASA events. I run in the rally class and there's usually no one else in it. I'm there just for the fun of it. No co-driver requ...
