Re: Giants 2014
Nice set of photos. Shows how everyone sets up in turn one. We seem vary a lot on where we are as we hit the bend. Thanks for getting shots of our cars that we could not get otherwise . # 13 SAAB

Re: Solo rules vs PHA SUPPS on tires ?
Thanks for the replies. If that's the way Steve and Dave look at the rules , well, that's good enough for me. I'll bring my whole collection of tires along and see what sticks. Looking at weather predictions, a set of rain tires might be good. George, Will there be time to stamp roll bars and fill o...

Solo rules vs PHA SUPPS on tires ?
I run my car in SMF. The latest Solo rules for 2014 seem to call for tires of 140 or higher wear rating for 2014 on street class cars. The PHA supplemental rules only say tires must be rated for 120MPH. There is also language that says Solo cars are governed by SOLO rules except for safety items tha...

2013 Giant's Despair Sanction Number ??
There are a number of novices that need the SCCA sanction number for this event for their permit books. It seems to have not been on any of the entry forms. If anyone out there has the numbers, would you please post them here?

Re: Giants Despair Pits and parking?
I 'll be coming for the first time ever to run here, so I'd like to be sure that I put my trailer in the right spot. I'll be leaving the car and trailer overnight, but going into town for a hotel , A/C and showers Friday and Saturday night. Am I going to have problems getting into the parking and tr...

Re: Switzerland Hillclimb Video
Great video. Some of those cars are hard on the armco barriers. they must spend alot of money on body work. I think they drive a little harder then some of us in PHA.

Re: Weatherly was great / Correction !!
Before I catch hell, BMR's Spring Summit was just as great for me. I was just a little overwhelmed that weekend. I had not run the car that hard ever on the street and was worn out by Sunday afternoon. But just to get this right, I enjoyed Summit just as much as Weatherly, but I was not as comfortab...

I thought Weatherly was Great !!
This was not my first time @ Weatherly, but this time I got to compete for timed runs. I had a great time, the car ran like a top and never missed a beat. All you PHA people were nice and friendly to me and I'm starting to feel at home. I'm really glad I decided to come back to PHA after 40 years. I...

Re: Weatherly Results "WOW"
Yes , I agree. That is all the info you needed to know and more. I really liked the Radar gun speeds. Good stuff to compare performance etc.
Great Job Nelson, I guess we should all treat you better and give a Raise in pay.

Re: Fire extinguisher location and mounting ?
Thanks for the replys SUE and NELSON. I'm getting a little paranoid as Duryea comes closer. This will be my first hill since 1973 Shafferstown. There are a lot of details to worry about and I don't want troubles Friday night for my first Tech.

Fire extinguisher location and mounting ?
I have read the TTR rules and GCR and will be using a 2 lb ABC unit . I have been told by several people that the unit must be all metal and have two mounting straps instead of one. I was also told that it should be located so that it can be reached when buckled in the seat. I can't reach much of an...

Could use some rule interpretation for time trials
I am expecting to run a SAAB 900S in SMF (solo rules) at Duryea . I have not run the hill since about 1972-3, so I am a novice. I have my TTR permit, helmet, socks , belts etc. I am getting hung up on what the solo vs TTR rules are saying. I have an auto power roll bar due here any day. My issues ar...
