Re: Annual Tech get together?
Dave - GREAT idea. Sadly, I will on vacation over that weekend, too far away to make it, or I surely would, both to get an annual road racing tech AND HELP OUT for the event.

Re: Running a 1990 Miata
Miatas run in so many different classes that I will not guess where you should be. It is the driver's responsibility to select their class. BUT, for safety equipment, I have a recommedation: If your car complies with an SCCA road racing class, contact your region and find out who is doing annual tec...

Re: Awards Banquet Photos
Now that I moved and created mass confusion in where I put stuff, I started archiving photos. AUGH!!! I do not have a photo of Tom Hartman as the 100 Year Old Hillclimber addressing the banquet audience. If any one has a photo of him (or us at the podium), please let me know...I would like to have o...

Re: roll cage questions
Rich is right on! Some additional thoughts: If you LOVE your car, don't think records. If you depend on your car to get to work, don't think records. If you are a novice, don't think records. To put in autocross terms...think of those instances where you slid way off line and took out a few cones......

Re: Proposals for PHA meeting
FV95 proposal #1: For signing off on novice permits I propose the following procedures be initated: A case of unsportsman like conduct is grounds for an UNSAT entry in the permit with appropriate negative commentary. (Example: screaming at corner workers after a crash, blaming them for the incident ...

Re: roll cage questions
A fair warning. If you are experienced, even a little, in autocrosses and try a couple of hills, you will become addicted. HIllclimbing is a special test, it is run by and supported by very special people.....Run one or two events, and you will be back for more. You know it is a great place to compe...

Re: roll cage questions
You know, I worked too hard today, and my brain is tired. Let's try this suit rating again: SFI 3.2A/1 is acceptable, and if I read the GCR right (P.76), flame retardent underwear is required. If a SFI 3.2A/5 rated suit is worn, the underwear is not required. (There is where the 5 came from in my fi...

Re: roll cage questions
OOPS. Joe Foering is right. Heed what we say, and then double check things. Earlier I said a suit with SFI-5 is required. Not so, a mistake on my part. That G-Force SFI-3, multi-layer suit is good. GForce makes good stuff, as do many other manufacturers. Many of us use GForce suits.

Re: roll cage questions
Some thoughts: You will be buried with ideas, mostly good ones, all well intended. Review them and when in doubt, ask questons. Helmets have Snell approvals and dates. You will need an SA 2005 (the next issue will be in 2010). "M" series helmets are NOT acceptable. Do not buy a helmet with...

Re: Ideas for a short promotional Video of the PHA...
Diane, If I am not mistaken, Hugh Maloney has some vintage footage. He will be at the NEPA banquet 1/31 (hope you guys can make it) and probably at the PHA meeting.
Hughie, I hope you don't mind that I may have volunteered a bit of your scarce time and your archives. A good cause.

Since I will be towing North to South with my 26' MotorHome the question is: Is there a reasonable place to park an RV for the weekend?

Re: Wolf Ridge Hillclimb - Improved date for PA Hillclimbers!!!
Wolf Ridge is tentatively on my schedule. If all goes well I will be at Roebling Roads the weekend before and by dragging my feet and visiting folks I may well be at Wolf Ridge about the time of the event.

Re: "Official" PHA Flyer needed ASAP!
Relative to PDX and TT at the same time: I was a volunteer at Roebling Roads in 2008 when they ran a PDX and TT the same weekend, on the same road course. As we do a Jefferson, there were a couple of groups of cars in the Time Trials. An additional "group" was added for the PDX entrants. T...

Re: Thor's Driver's School
To all who know Thor; I have been remiss in not filing the report of the entrant and crew chief. So, here it is: He studied the GCR and the supplementals; he started out at a reasonable speed and got used to traffic. Being blessed by being in a group of well prepared cars and competent drivers, Thor...

FV Birthday Party, Roebling Roads GA......4/4-5-6/08. Current FVs, Vintage and historic FVs, Super Vees, and VW powered sports racers. Should be a blast. I'll post more details when I get them.
