Re: TOURING RUNS

What other form of racing has Touring Runs? Autocross? Road Racing? Rally? Most rallies today do have an optional "shakedown" stage offered. Sometimes you pay extra and it's always before the event. It's usually only 1-2 miles for the exact purpose you'd think. MHO, touring mandatory for ...

Sounds like you need to attend a rally (or rally type event, rallycross, etc) in the winter/snow. They do exist.

If that first picture on page 90 was taken in 1970 (which it seems to have been), the TR3 you see the back end of on a trailer next to the 2 door Buick hardtop in the upper left side, is my car!

I would think that the sooner you get the back end around, the sooner you could get on the FULL power in a straight line. Of course you need gobs of power (torque) for it to work.

There are quite a few hillclimbs in Colorado other than Pikes Peak. Most (if not all) are non tarmac, I believe.

I'm not asking for sub classes. I just want a way for a rally class entrant to help police someone coming in and running a car claiming to be a rally car that doesn't meet the rules (or atleast come close to it) for the appropriate rally class. Maybe I'm concerned about nothing. BTW, I agree generea...

HI all, This is a question I saw popping up soon. It needs modification for next year I would say. The stated rule was basically saying if you race Rally you can race with us as long as you comply with our safety rules. The Rally license will be honored as qualifying to compete in our series. Now t...

Gotcha. Good enough answer Matt :D Since the rally class is supposed to conform to rally rules, does that mean a restrictor is needed on what would be Open class cars? Don, youve been there done that, is the weezer still in place at the climbs? Brandon Yes, it is and IMHO should be. But then from w...

Results in Reading paper?

In the old days there were always results in the Reading paper. I'm sure the organizers had to supply them. Have they refused to print them? Have we not given them to the paper? The only 2 things I saw in the paper was Jeffs article and the advertisment for WEEU's remote from 11 to 1. No other cover...

Nelson, do you happen to know the width of each pit allocation? Will a 12 x 12 ez-up infringe on the next pit? Thanks.

Thanks for the reference to World Rally Championship in the column. But as one who has driven both (Hillclimbs and stage rallies) I can personally tell you that the difference is like riding a pony ride at the fair and riding horses to manage cattle in the wild west

IMHO, least amount of hills and most 4 lane is turnpike or 183/78 to Harrisburg, 322 to 11/15, 11/15 thru Willimasport. We've been towing to Wellsboro that way for 15 years. 11/15 is 4 lane all the way except for a couple of miles.

What license will be accepted for Duryea Hillclimb?

Last year my sons ran Duryea's rally class under SCCA pro rally licences. I also ran 5 years ago the same way. I'd like to run Duryea this year and have my SCCA membership, but of course there's no such thing as an SCCA rally license. I have a NASA and Rally America rally license. What will be accep...
